David Finkle...Nationally renowned traditional drummaker, award winning multi-instrumental recording artist, music producer and highly sought after project facilitator. His workshops include drum and/or rattle making, exploring hand drumming techniques and finally world musical instrument demonstrations. The latter concentrating on non-electric indigenous instruments from differing cultures the world over. As well as having completed soundtracks for many extremely successful theatrical productions, his list of past performances is impressive and ever growing. David has performed at such well established venues as The National Arts Centre, The Ottawa Folk Festival, The Parliament Buildings (for the senate), Colonel By Festival, Pinheys Point Heritage Festival, The Wakefield Harvest Festival, The Black Sheep Inn, The Ottawa Fringe Festival, The Loyalist College Festival of Native Arts, Southam Hall, Grant Hall, The Empire Theatre and other high profile locations and events too numerous to mention here. A past winner at The Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards in 2003 for Best Instrumental Album entitled Natural Resources (co-written with David Maracle) he has been featured on a number of Television and Radio shows, and been written about in many a magazine and/or newspapers. A full-time dad to his nine year old daughter Aurora (a jingle dress dancer), he is also a native craft vendor and they can both be seen frequenting the local pow-wows and even performing together (Aurora plays drum!) at various events.
